As an Electrical Engineer at AWS AIS, you will design and innovate electrical systems powering a rapidly expanding data-center footprint. You’ll manage multi-million dollar projects from concept to construction, collaborating across disciplines to deliver resilient, cost-effective solutions. You’ll work with global teams to meet safety, codes, and performance goals while supporting customers worldwide. Responsibilities

• Design electrical distribution and generate construction document sets for data centers
• Collaborate across disciplines on site selection reviews and planning
• Design critical equipment (Generators, UPS, MV/LV Switchgear, Transformers, Earthing, Life Safety/Fire Detection)
• Ensure designs meet quality and budget requirements
• Coordinate with regional vendors, utilities, and regulatory bodies (IEC, EU, building codes)
• Review equipment submittals and define project scope with technical support during construction
• Support commissioning teams for testing and validation of electrical systems
• Manage concurrent projects across multiple regions
• Lead within the global team and across internal/external stakeholders
• Provide on-site engineering evaluations, audits, and startup support
• Balance desk design with on-site activities and translate concept to deployment
• Explore new technologies and construction methods to improve facilities

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities (data centers, power generation, or oil and gas)
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities
• Experience in commissioning of electrical systems
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittals
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to handle concurrent projects across regions
• Willingness to travel for site reviews
