Overview

In this role within Global Compliance, you will provide compliance support to the Retail Savings / Deposits business and contribute to region-wide initiatives. You will work with cross-functional teams to implement regulatory controls, monitor for compliance, and support regulatory examinations. The role focuses on consumer protection within retail banking, including deposit products, customer servicing, and regulatory change management. You will help maintain a strong compliance culture while solving complex regulatory challenges at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consumer regulatory coverage for savings/deposits initiatives, including new business ideas and changes to products/services
  • Interpret contact center data from a compliance perspective and apply relevant controls
  • Contribute to jurisdictional risk management using enterprise risk frameworks
  • Execute daily compliance processes: complaint handling, monitoring, testing, reporting, policy maintenance, and training
  • Ensure adherence to depositor protection rules and regulatory changes across UK/EU regulations
  • Collaborate with Global Compliance and firm stakeholders to uphold firmwide standards

Key requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience as a Compliance Officer with retail banking consumer protection focus (excluding AML/Financial Crime)
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements across the consumer product lifecycle from design to support and marketing
  • Familiarity with digital customer journeys in financial services
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Experience supporting regulatory audits or inquiries
  • Clear, concise communication skills and ability to engage senior stakeholders
  • Ability to challenge, maintain independence, and build professional rapport
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage long-term projects and time-sensitive escalations
  • Analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities with balanced judgment
