In this role you support vulnerable individuals by handling Court of Protection matters, advising on Mental Capacity Act issues, and managing deputyships within a specialist team. You will work with barristers, social workers, and professionals to prepare applications, reports, and statements, while maintaining compliant electronic files. Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of property and financial affairs deputyships
• Prepare and submit Court of Protection applications
• Advise on Mental Capacity Act 2005 issues and deputyship responsibilities
• Represent clients in Court of Protection proceedings
• Support professional and lay deputies in financial affairs, property and welfare decisions
• Liaise with barristers, medical experts, social workers and financial professionals
• Prepare reports, legal documents, witness statements and OPG submissions
• Maintain accurate, compliant electronic files and manage workload effectively

Key requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (typically 2+ years PQE)
• Or an experienced case handler with 5+ years Court of Protection experience
• Excellent communication and client care skills
• Strong time management and organisational abilities
• Attention to detail and methodical approach
• Discretion and professionalism with sensitive information
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage competing priorities
• Strong technical understanding of mental capacity law and related processes
