Overview

In this role you will lead the UK Defence Sector Employee Communications strategy, shaping how employees understand their contribution to QinetiQ’s goals. You will craft sector-wide campaigns across multiple channels and partner with senior leaders to raise engagement and reinforce the employer narrative. You’ll translate feedback into targeted content and events, helping teams feel connected to purpose and values. This is a cross-functional, fast-paced role that blends strategy, storytelling and measurement to drive impact.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the UKD Sector Employee Communications strategy aligned with Group plans
  • Advise key stakeholders on best practices and trends in employee communications
  • Manage sector channels, messaging and content for information and announcements
  • Draft and edit engaging content for blogs, social, intranet, and website
  • Oversee day-to-day delivery of employee communications campaigns
  • Plan and deliver key events (virtual and in-person) such as Q-Talks, roadshows and leadership conferences
  • Ensure content aligns with the QinetiQ narrative and brand
  • Measure impact of communications activities to inform future plans
  • Deliver sector campaigns to raise awareness and understanding of Group communications
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to promote employer value proposition and brand
  • Stay up-to-date with trends and best practices in employee communications

Key requirements

  • Depth of experience in communications, especially employee communications
  • Proven delivery in multi-stakeholder environments with strong relationship skills
  • Experience editing and updating intranet/web content and analyzing web analytics
  • Experience delivering events (virtual and in-person)
  • Strong commercial focus
  • Experience working with senior leaders
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders
  • Clear and concise writing with strong grammar and tone
