Cost Manager/Project Quantity Surveyor – Construction

Overview

In this role you guide clients and their professional teams on high-value projects in the Northwest, ensuring best value and commercial clarity. You’ll collaborate with conservators, architects and engineers to balance qualitative and commercial outcomes. You’ll manage feasibility, cost planning, tendering, variances and final accounts, shaping cost strategies across the project lifecycle. This is a hands-on, client-facing role in a renowned cost management practice.

Responsibilities

• Assisting on feasibility studies and drafting procurement reports
• Estimating and cost planning, including presenting the final cost plan
• Tendering and procurement management, including pre-qualification
• Managing post-contract cost variances and change control
• Carrying out cost checks and valuations on larger projects
• Producing monthly post-contract cost reports for clients
• Inputting into value engineering
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
• Interfacing with clients and other consultants at all project stages

Key requirements

• Proven track record delivering cost management/quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle
• Professionally qualified (RICS or similar) (preferred)
• Degree or HNC level qualification
• Experience in construction knowledge from Main Contracting or PQS background
