Senior Project Planner

Overview

In this role you will lead schedule control for a portfolio of 150+ small capital projects, delivering clear status, risks and milestones. You will build, maintain and analyse Primavera schedules, challenge assumptions and drive corrective actions with project managers, suppliers and commercial teams. You will explore how data and AI can enhance project controls and reporting while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a regulated environment. Based in Tamworth with a four-days-per-week office expectation, you contribute to efficient planning, governance and programme delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Primavera schedules for a large set of small capital projects
• Create baseline programmes with logical links and resource loading in OPC/Primavera P6
• Monitor progress, analyze variances and conduct DCMA 14-point schedule health checks
• Report status and progress against commitments, ensuring traceability of milestones
• Identify schedule risks and critical path changes, escalating issues and challenging suppliers
• Produce dashboards and summaries aligning schedule with cost and earned value reporting

Key requirements

• 5+ years as a planner/scheduler, ideally in construction, infrastructure or utilities
• Strong proficiency with Oracle Primavera Cloud or Primavera P6
• Experience with DCMA 14-point schedule assessment and applying its findings
• Track record supporting multiple concurrent small-to-medium projects
• Confident communicator able to translate complex schedules into clear reporting
• Desirable: experience in regulated utilities and earned value management
• Professional qualification (e.g. APM, CaSa or equivalent) is an advantage
