Overview

As a Business Development Manager for PATLITE in the UK, you will drive new business and grow market share in Southern England. You’ll collaborate with distributors, OEMs, system integrators, and end users to promote PATLITE’s signalling and communication products. You’ll work autonomously while aligning with the UK Sales Manager and cross‑functional teams to deliver consultative sales solutions. This role offers a high degree of autonomy, industry exposure, and the chance to shape PATLITE’s regional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities across key industrial sectors
  • Build strong relationships with OEMs, machine builders, system integrators, distributors and end users
  • Promote PATLITE products through visits, presentations, demonstrations, and training
  • Collaborate with distribution partners to generate and convert opportunities
  • Manage and develop existing accounts to maximise revenue growth
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline management, and activity reporting via CRM
  • Attend industry exhibitions, trade shows, and networking events to enhance market presence
  • Collaborate with internal teams including technical support, customer service, and marketing

Key requirements

  • Proven success in business development or field sales
  • Experience selling technical products or solutions into industrial, manufacturing, automation, electrical, or engineering markets
  • Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills
  • Commercially driven with a passion for identifying and winning new business
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to work independently whilst contributing to a wider team environment
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across the South of England
  • Knowledge of industrial automation, signalling solutions, sensors, controls, or related technologies
  • Experience working with distributors, OEMs, machine builders, or system integrators
  • Understanding of manufacturing and Industry 4.0 environments
