Electrical Construction Manager – Data Centre Projects

Overview

As Electrical Construction Manager, you will lead the electrical delivery across hyperscale, colocation and mission-critical builds to ensure safe, on-time energisation of HV/LV systems and critical interfaces. You’ll coordinate subcontractors, drive programme performance and resolve technical challenges to meet exacting data-centre standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-availability facilities while upholding safety and quality. This role offers hands-on leadership in a high-stakes, high-voltage environment with meaningful impact on uptime and operational resilience.

Responsibilities

• Electrical delivery leadership from installation through commissioning and handover
• Manage HV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, switchgear, busbar, containment, lighting, earthing, lightning protection
• Lead electrical subcontractors, supervisors, and direct labour for safe, efficient delivery
• Short-term planning, labour allocation, materials management, and coordination with mechanical/architectural teams
• Implement ITPs, inspections, snagging, energisation support, IST, and final client acceptance
• Review RAMS, manage permits, lead toolbox talks, uphold HSE compliance in high-risk environment

Key requirements

• Electrical background with experience delivering large-scale M&E or mission-critical projects
• NVQ Level 3+, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent electrical qualification
• SMSTS/ CSCS Black or Gold card
• First Aid at Work
• Strong understanding of HV/LV systems, UPS, generators, switchgear, and data-centre electrical infrastructure
• Proven experience managing electrical packages on complex builds (data centres, industrial, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or similar high-resilience environments)
