Portfolio Pricing Actuary / Analyst

Overview

In this role you will support AXIS Capacity Solutions and Portfolio Solutions by providing rigorous pricing insights for complex, multi-line portfolios. You will work with underwriters and actuarial colleagues to shape pricing decisions, assess deal structures, and monitor performance. Your analysis will help drive robust, profitable portfolios and align assumptions across reserving, capital modeling, and finance. The opportunity combines market-facing analytics with cross-functional collaboration in a London market context, offering exposure to sophisticated portfolio structures. You will contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team shaping strategic pricing initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support pricing of portfolio deals across the lifecycle with data prep, model runs, and output review for pricing decisions
• Collaborate with underwriters and senior actuaries to understand risk profiles and assess deal structures (limits, reinsurance) and key sensitivities
• Deliver portfolio and product monitoring analyses, assess rate changes, exposure movements, and trends to inform pricing adequacy
• Maintain benchmarks and portfolio metrics; develop pricing tools, data flows, and analytical capabilities with Product Pricing and Analytics teams
• Contribute to expected loss ratios and pricing assumptions for business planning considering market conditions
• Participate in cross-functional project workstreams, providing actuarial input and supporting business objectives
• Provide informal guidance to junior analysts and foster a collaborative team environment

Key requirements

• Progress towards actuarial qualification (or equivalent experience)
