MEP Engineering Lead

Overview

In this role you lead the MEP package for a £300m hyperscale data centre project from inception to completion. You will steer design, installation and commissioning while coordinating with the client, designers and contractors. You drive safety, programme delivery and technical excellence, shaping the project’s success and strategic relationships. This is a high-impact opportunity to lead a critical engineering effort for a major data centre build.

Responsibilities

• Own the successful completion of the MEP package on the project
• Guide the production of project programmes
• Contribute to the Project Report and attend project meetings
• Chair meetings with client, designers, specialist contractors when appropriate
• Proactively monitor health & safety processes and ensure compliance
• Provide engineering services content to tender proposals
• Build and develop relationships with external professionals and clients, and with contractors and suppliers
• Check ongoing installation for compliance with contract requirements and advise the project/divisional team
• Assist on technical issues including procurement, contracts, final accounts, dispute resolution, and quality
• Vet and propose contractors, systems and manufacturers for projects

Key requirements

• Qualified in Building Services Engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience at MEP Manager level
• Understanding of pre-construction process and ability to organise the design phase
• Ability to maintain client decision matrix
• Knowledge of Health & Safety policy and Safety management systems
