Overview
In this Medical Analytics Manager role, you will apply health evidence and data analytics to inform pricing, underwriting and assumptions for UK individual and enhanced annuities. You’ll bridge health science with commercial decisions, working with actuaries, underwriters, and data scientists to translate research into actionable business guidance. The position emphasizes interpreting existing models, shaping health-related assumptions, and contributing to analytics thought leadership within R&D. London-based, with a clear impact on pricing and risk assessment.
Responsibilities
- Manage health-related analytical projects from scoping to results communication
- Review and synthesize medical research to support assumption development
- Analyze health and underwriting data and interpret existing statistical models
- Translate quantitative and qualitative analyses into commercial recommendations
- Collaborate with pricing actuaries, underwriters, medical experts and data scientists
- Explain complex medical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Support development of assumptions for individual and enhanced annuity business
- Contribute to Medical Analytics research and thought leadership
Key requirements
- Actuarial/insurance background or health sciences/analytics background
- 3–6 years PQE (flexible for highly relevant candidates)
- Experience with pricing or underwriting teams (valued)
- Strong statistical programming capability (R required; Python beneficial)
- Ability to understand models, interpret results, and communicate implications commercially
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
