Overview
In this role, you will oversee end-to-end EU payroll processes from the London base, partnering with local HR, Payroll, and Finance teams. You’ll ensure accuracy, compliance, and governance across payroll, mobility, and immigration, including expat payroll and related tax/immigration coordination. You will drive improvements, support audits, and contribute to EU-level policies and tooling. This is a hands-on, cross-functional partner role with a clear impact on stakeholders and payroll integrity.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end payroll for EU markets and ensure accurate payroll processing
- Collaborate closely with EU payroll partners, HR Managers, and Finance
- Execute payroll controls across the payroll cycle and manage expat payroll coordination
- Validate and approve payroll data; manage salary payments, taxes, social security, and related payments
- Prepare month-end and quarterly payroll reports for Finance
- Identify, investigate, and resolve payroll issues
- Lead payroll, mobility and immigration governance, audits, and continuous improvement
- Provide strategic input into EU-level policies, systems, and tools
- Manage immigration processes for expats entering or leaving EU markets
Key requirements
- Payroll management experience in a retail or high-volume environment (1000+ employees) with 3–5 years of experience
- Strong knowledge of payroll, taxation principles, and expat rules
- Experience working with expats, global mobility, and tax advisors
- Fluent in English communication skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and customer service mindset
- High level of discretion, confidentiality, and accuracy
- Proactive, self-driven with a can-do attitude
- Strong organisational and planning skills with ability to meet deadlines
- Strong numerical skills, Excel proficiency, and HRIS/payroll system knowledge (Workday, Work Force System)
