Overview
In this role you will grow and lead a busy family law practice within a well-established Somerset firm. You will handle a broad caseload across childcare, financial disputes, and matrimonial work, from instruction to conclusion. You’ll contribute to client care, court liaison, and cross-department collaboration, with a clear path to progression following the merger and future leadership opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Manage a full range of family matters including childcare and financial disputes
- Handle cases independently from instruction to conclusion
- Prepare and amend legal documents; conduct legal research
- Manage client communications via phone, email, and in person
- Open new files, issue quotes, archive matters, and handle court administration
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to business development and referral work
Key requirements
- Minimum 3 years PQE with litigation rights or willingness to apply
- Broad experience across family law matters
- Ability to supervise trainees and mentor junior staff
- Confident in managing an independent caseload
- Commercially aware, proactive, and client-focused
- Excellent communication, organisational skills, and professional demeanor
