Construction Quality Assurance Manager

Overview

In this role, you will lead the implementation, governance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System across a diverse construction project portfolio. You will embed quality across the full lifecycle, from pre-construction through handover, driving a proactive quality culture. You’ll ensure robust planning, compliance and data-driven improvements with audit-ready records. Responsibilities

• Ensure every project has an approved PQP and ITP prior to start
• Tailor PQPs and ITPs to project scope, risks and programme
• Define and manage quality hold points and ensure compliance
• Embed QA processes across all construction stages
• Configure and maintain digital quality management systems
• Support project and site teams in system implementation
• Ensure accurate, audit-ready quality records
• Lead quality audits and assurance reviews
• Monitor trends, identify risks, and implement corrective actions
• Train and mentor Project Managers, Site Managers and supply chain on quality processes
• Promote right-first-time across projects
• Lead or contribute to quality meetings and improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with SHEQ teams and stakeholders for consistent compliance
• Support external audits, inspections and handover activities
• Produce regular quality performance reports for senior management

Key requirements

• Proven experience in QA/Quality Management or Technical Compliance within construction
• Knowledge of UK construction standards and Building Regulations
• Experience producing and managing PQPs and ITPs
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction documents
• Experience with main contractor environment (preferred)
• Strong auditing, reporting and governance skills
• Experience using digital quality management systems and MS Office
