Commercial Manager | UK Fusion Energy | STEP Fusion Programme

Overview

In this role you will help establish the commercial foundations for the STEP fusion energy programme at West Burton. You will work with senior stakeholders, suppliers and delivery partners to shape procurement, contracts and governance for a landmark clean energy project. You’ll address risk, settlements and commercial decisions across complex workstreams as the programme evolves. This is a rare, large-scale opportunity to influence how the UK’s fusion energy future is delivered.

Responsibilities

• Support major procurement, commercial and contract management across the programme
• Develop and implement procurement and commercial strategy
• Lead contract negotiation and supplier engagement
• Governance and compliance oversight for commercial activities
• Risk management and dispute avoidance across projects
• Contribute to major programme delivery and decision-making across work streams
• Manage stakeholder and supplier relationships
• Support commercial decision-making across complex work streams

Key requirements

• MCIPS-qualified (preferred)
• Experience in commercial/contract roles within infrastructure, utilities, energy, defence, engineering, manufacturing, public sector or other regulated environments
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and multiple delivery partners
