Overview
As a Research Scientist in Lightspeed Tech Center, you will advance LLM-powered agents that operate within live game environments. You will collaborate with designers and engineers to meet latency, cost, and player experience targets, while exploring cutting-edge LLM techniques for reasoning, planning, tool-use, and memory. This role combines high-impact research with practical integration to push next‑gen experiences across platforms. You will work in a cross-functional, innovation‑driven team shaping the future of AI in games.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize agents based on large language models
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to integrate AI agents into live games
- Research and adapt LLM techniques for game agent scenarios (reasoning, planning, tool-use, memory)
- Ensure latency, cost, and player experience requirements are met in production environments
- Contribute to the evaluation and iteration of AI-driven gameplay features
Key requirements
- Ph.D. in Computer Science with NLP/LLM focus preferred
- Strong foundations in machine learning and statistical models
- Proficiency in at least one programming language and good understanding of data structures/algorithms
- Publications in AI/NLP venues preferred (ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, EMNLP, ACL)
