Project Cost Consultant

Overview

In this role you will support the growth of our cost management capability by leading front-line cost management activities on high-profile built environment projects. You will work within a dedicated team, collaborating with stakeholders to keep projects on budget while developing specialist knowledge and contributing to firm-wide initiatives. You’ll engage in procurements, cost planning and post-contract cost control, shaping outcomes for clients and the business. Responsibilities

• Procurement planning and strategy development
• Lead tender evaluation and prepare Tender Reports for client approval
• Negotiate and collate contract documents with Client teams and Contractors
• Stakeholder engagement and clear communication at all levels
• Prepare cost reports, cashflow forecasts, and financial analyses
• Manage post-contract cost control, assesses variations and final accounts
• Develop and deliver cost plans, estimates and benchmarking work
• Use CostX for measurement and cost analysis, conduct market testing of costs
• Support with market soundings and input into procurement strategy
• Contribute to business development and internal initiatives

Key requirements

• Degree qualified
• Pre and post contract experience
• Construction contract terms experience (preferably JCT Design & Build)
• Experience in a consultancy environment (desirable)
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Client-focused with strong service mindset
• Strong report writing and presentation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft platforms
• MRICS preferred but not essential
