Overview

In this role you will contribute to building a scalable trading architecture and cloud-native microservices for an active systematic trading hedge fund. You will collaborate closely with a high-caliber engineering team in a fast-paced, open culture that values teaching and learning. The position offers exposure to trading infrastructure, data flows, and automation in a capital-rich environment. You will help shape technology that supports serious money and robust performance in a global setting.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and developing a new trading architecture for model execution
  • Designing, developing, testing and deploying cloud-based microservices (AWS)
  • Supporting business units by solving problems, querying data, and building tools
  • Working in a highly collaborative paired environment to solve complex problems
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to improve architecture and processes
  • Prototyping new concepts and features, exploring new technologies
  • Pursuing automation and continuous delivery
  • Reviewing designs and code to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity

Key requirements

  • 2:1 Computer Science, Maths, Physics or Chemistry degree from a Red Brick UK or EU University
  • Strong A Levels
  • Python (ideally with Java)
  • Ideally cloud architecture or model deployment on the cloud
  • Understanding of computing fundamentals, OOP, threading, concurrency and distributed systems
  • TDD
  • CI/CD
