Community Manager, French Speaking (Contract)

Overview

As Community Manager for Reddit’s International Growth, you’ll help grow Reddit outside the US by building and empowering local French-speaking communities. You’ll recruit and support volunteer moderators, scale the consumer growth playbook, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to drive measurable community impact. Your work accelerates international adoption and deepens engagement with French communities. This role blends strategy, community operations, and hands-on experimentation for meaningful, global growth.

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of the French market to identify moderator challenges and opportunities
• Iterate, innovate, and scale the consumer growth playbook with bold programs and cross‑team alignment
• Build and grow a local moderator community through strategic planning and education
• Implement a conversion funnel to onboard power users and creators as active moderators
• Communicate quantitative and qualitative insights to optimize the international playbook
• Practice goal-driven execution and aggressive outcomes
• Analyze data, set KPIs, and drive community initiatives that inform the local team direction
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Community, Engineering, Marketing, Safety, and BD teams

Key requirements

• 5+ years in community development, growth, operations, or product consulting with successful community-led initiatives
• Deep knowledge of French culture and current affairs
• Nuanced understanding of digital culture in France and internet culture
• Strong written and verbal communication across diverse stakeholders
• Results-oriented with attention to detail and execution
• Interest in developing and driving projects, testing hypotheses, and iterating processes
• Proficiency in French & English
