Hospital Director

Overview

In this role you will lead the hospital’s strategic and operational performance to deliver safe, high-quality mental health care. You will work closely with the Hospital SMT to drive financial targets, quality measures, and clinical governance. You help shape service delivery and risk management while supporting organisational change and improvements. Responsibilities

• Accountability for hospital performance, including commercial outcomes
• Lead and manage the Hospital Senior Management Team across daily operations and performance against quality indicators
• Partner with the Managing Director to oversee clinical risk management at the site
• Ensure targets for business planning, revenue, EBITDA, and care standards are met
• Drive service improvements and ensure high standards of patient care, safety, and governance

Key requirements

• Proven senior leadership experience in a healthcare setting
• Strong understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements
• Experience managing teams, budgets, and operational performance
• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
• Ability to drive high standards of patient care, quality and safety
• Experience collaborating with clinical and corporate teams
• Desirable: prior hospital director or senior healthcare leadership experience
• Desirable: experience with mental health, learning disability, or specialist services
• Desirable: experience with CQC and other regulators
• Desirable: experience leading service improvement and organisational change
