Overview

In this role you will lead multi-disciplinary building surveying commissions within Gleeds’ Leeds office, supporting a UK-wide Built Asset Solutions service. You will work closely with QS and PM colleagues to deliver design, specification and contract administration for commercial projects, alongside professional surveying tasks such as dilapidations, due diligence, and defect analysis. You’ll manage projects from feasibility through to handover, maintaining quality and client relationships while protecting project profitability. Responsibilities

  • Deliver building surveying commissions for commercial projects from feasibility to handover
  • Manage plans and programmes for maintenance and project delivery
  • Provide professional advice to clients and project teams
  • Ensure independent checks of quantitative/financial information before issue
  • Support business objectives and client relationship development
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and growth
  • Administer construction contracts as Contracts Administrator and Employers Agent
  • Maintain quality and compliance with legislation impacting building contracts

Key requirements

  • MRICS or MCIOB accreditation is required
  • Post-MRICS building surveying experience
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods/materials
  • Experience with procurement strategies, tendering and contract strategies
  • Proficiency in contract administration and employers agent roles
  • Clear communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Financial and numeracy management capabilities
  • Proficient ICT skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Team-oriented with ability to adapt to changes
