Cyber Security Analyst

Overview

In this role you will strengthen the SOC by configuring and operating security tooling to detect, investigate, and respond to threats. You will work within established frameworks to monitor risk, optimize tooling and processes, and support incident response. You’ll mentor junior analysts and help drive best practices in SIEM and SOC operations. This position fits into Boeing’s security team to protect high-value information in a demanding environment. You will engage in threat monitoring and proactive tuning to reduce security risk.

Responsibilities

• Support identification and ongoing monitoring of security risks with the security team
• Improve tooling and processes to align with best practices
• Configure and use SIEM, vulnerability management, and security tooling
• Innovate in SIEM/SOC practices and codify best practice
• Mentor and oversee development of junior analysts
• Work to defined SLAs and KPIs
• Support incident response when required

Key requirements

• 3+ years’ SOC experience
• Experience with SIEMs and evaluating alerts
• Proficient in log aggregation/correlation tools (Splunk preferred)
• Experience interpreting logs from systems, apps, and network devices
• Experience in packet capture/analysis
• Experience in responding to security alerts and data-based investigations
• Experience in alert rule creation (SNORT, YARA, SIEM)
• Experience in environment threat modeling
• Experience in identifying and handling security incidents
