Compliance Manager – Perm

Overview

In this role, you own and shape the compliance framework for a specialist reinsurance business in the London market. You will work closely with governance bodies to ensure ongoing regulatory alignment and effective monitoring. The role combines policy ownership, FCA reporting, licensing, and oversight of outsourced compliance, delivering clear risk-management and board reporting. You’ll have a meaningful impact through driving compliance across entities and supporting European operations, with room to step into a broader leadership remit.

Responsibilities

• Own the compliance policies and procedures framework and annual Compliance Monitoring Plan
• End-to-end FCA regulatory reporting including internal review and approval
• Manage licensing documentation, permissions and renewals across operating entities
• Oversee Broker TOBA management and annual broker checks
• Coordinate and manage outsourced compliance provider
• Lead internal audits and external control testing coordination
• Provide governance and company secretarial support, including Board/committee coordination
• Conduct compliance training, Board reporting and issue management
• Support reinsurance entity and European branch/operations

Key requirements

• Reinsurance experience is essential
• Compliance experience within an insurer or reinsurer (London market preferred)
• Strong hands-on FCA regulatory reporting experience
• Ability to manage day-to-day compliance agenda and operate in detail
• International/European entity or branch experience beneficial
