Overview
As Linux Systems Engineer at Quant Capital’s fintech client in London, you will manage multi-site, internet-facing Linux infrastructure with high security requirements. You will drive threat detection, security automation, and infrastructure hardening while contributing to in-house development and release automation. You will plan multi-site failover and shape architecture through exploration of new technologies. You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment that values openness and innovation.

Responsibilities
- Provision and manage business-critical Linux computing systems across multiple sites (compute, storage, network)
- Threat assessment and detection
- Security automation
- All security processes
- In-house infrastructure development and operation in Linux
- Continuous security review and infrastructure hardening
- Build and release infrastructure & automation
- Planning and engineering multi-site fail-over solutions
Key requirements
- 4 years commercial Linux CentOS or Debian administration experience
- Puppet configuration management or equivalent automation experience
- Hadoop / Spark
- Experience of security standards, best practices and principles
- Strong scripting in at least one language (Ruby, Python)
- Maven, Jenkins
- Monitoring and alerting in Sensu / Graphite
- Security automation and experience with SELinux Kerberos etc
