Managing Quantity Surveyor Rail

Overview

As Managing Quantity Surveyor in the Anglia Framework Delivery team, you provide senior commercial leadership across rail civils projects. You lead a regional team, shaping commercial strategy, pricing, and contract administration to deliver schemes on time and to budget. You act as a liaison with clients on change, disputes, and negotiations, driving consistency across multiple sites. This role offers impact through oversight of diverse rail maintenance frameworks and multi-site delivery, in a respected engineering contractor setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Quantity Surveyors and Assistants with daily guidance and contractual advice
• Manage commercial activities across multiple sites to meet time and budget targets
• Pricing and submitting accurate estimates, and resolving pricing issues with clients
• Contract administration (NEC/NR forms) and CVRs
• Engage in client liaison for change negotiations and dispute resolution
• Coordinate with Site Managers to gather site remittance information
• Oversee subcontractor management and change management including early warnings
• Final accounting and project close-out activities

Key requirements

• Experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with team leadership
• Civil engineering project experience (rail, bridges, roads, structures)
• Contractual experience with NEC or NR forms of contract
• Experience in civils maintenance frameworks in a client-facing capacity
• Management experience of a team of Quantity Surveyors
