Overview
In this role you will lead cost and commercial governance for a major corporate real estate portfolio, supporting the CMO/PMO lead across budgeting, forecasting, benchmarking and strategic procurement. You will ensure consistent cost management across multiple projects and present insights to senior stakeholders. The role sits in a client office in London within Mace’s Private Sector Corporate Real Estate team, offering opportunities to shape cost strategies and drive continuous improvement. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality cost control, data integrity and governance, contributing to the client’s strategic objectives.

Responsibilities
- Manage cost reporting, controls and consistency across many projects
- Deliver cost control and reporting for stakeholder presentations
- Track accruals/commitments against budgets and build project forecasts
- Provide governance of cost planning, benchmarking, reporting of cost, cashflow, procurement, contracts and claims
- Monitor contingencies, risks and change control to align with baselines
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards and RICS guidelines
- Develop and improve cost and commercial databases; drive data integrity and dashboards (Power BI or equivalent)
- Manage senior stakeholders and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Support transformational change and net zero carbon transition in delivery processes
Key requirements
- Degree in quantity surveying/cost management or equivalent
- MRICS/FRICS or equivalent professional membership
- Detailed knowledge of forms of contract
- Capex vs Opex cost analysis experience
- Understanding of sustainability, carbon reduction and social value concepts
- Strong knowledge of value engineering and life cycle costing
- Contract law and contractual frameworks experience
- Experience with cost planning, budgeting and estimating
- Analytical and data management skills, including large cost data sets
- Negotiation and influencing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
