Enterprise AI Lead

Overview

As Enterprise AI Lead, you will own and govern IRIS’s enterprise AI enablement across the organisation, driving adoption of tools like Claude and Microsoft Copilot. You will partner with IT, Security, Data Protection and business stakeholders to deploy safe, compliant AI capabilities and translate capability into practical education and adoption. You will lead the AI Champions network and shape how AI adds measurable value while balancing risk and security. This is a hands-on governance-plus-change role at a fast-growing software company.

Responsibilities

• Own the enterprise AI toolset from a Group IT perspective (Claude, Copilot, Agent Studios, MCPs, connectors) and define configuration standards
• Assess new AI technologies for controlled deployment, evaluating risk, value and readiness
• Define and govern central configuration standards for AI platforms
• Create and operate standards for department-created agents, including ownership, testing, documentation and lifecycle
• Oversee governance for MCPs, connectors and integrations, including approved use cases and security
• Collaborate with Security and Data Protection to ensure AI controls, data handling and risk decisions are properly owned
• Partner with ITAM, Finance and Procurement to govern FinOps for AI, including licensing and cost control
• Drive enablement through education, playbooks, showcases and office hours for safe AI use
• Lead the AI Champions network to build practical advocates across departments
• Translate business requirements into safe, supportable AI solutions with Architecture, Engineering and Service Desk
• Maintain documentation, governance artefacts and communication material for AI platforms and standards
• Measure adoption, engagement, costs, risks and value for IT leadership and stakeholders
• Act as a credible voice balancing innovation with control, security and data protection

Key requirements

• Experience deploying or governing enterprise technology platforms in a complex organisation
• Strong understanding of AI adoption, enablement, change management and safe experimentation
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Copilot, Claude, AI agents, Agent Studios, MCPs, connectors or similar tools
• Ability to define standards, controls, documentation and operational processes for technology platforms
• Understanding of data protection, security, access control and risk in AI usage and integrations
• Ability to collaborate with ITAM, Finance and Procurement on licensing, renewals and budgets
• Experience educating stakeholders through guidance, workshops and community networks
• Ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders and hold teams accountable
