Overview

In this role you will audit client systems and products against relevant national and international standards, focusing on aerospace, space or defence. You’ll travel across the UK to assess organisations, deliver value, and guide improvements. You work with cross-functional teams to maintain high audit standards and support client satisfaction while advancing BSI’s mission to improve performance and trust. Responsibilities

• Assess client systems and processes against BSI, ISO, and AS/EN requirements; ensure audits deliver value
• Prepare accurate assessment reports and clearly communicate findings and corrective actions
• Recommend certification decisions in line with policies and timelines
• Plan, conduct, and deliver audits professionally while upholding high standards
• Provide meaningful client feedback and demonstrate commercial and operational understanding
• Maintain a consistent, professional approach across assessments
• Lead assessment teams when required with effective planning and collaboration
• Build strong relationships to support long-term client satisfaction and business development
• Provide timely information to internal teams and maintain accurate client records

Key requirements

• Minimum 4 years of aerospace, space, or defence industry experience within the last 10 years
• Proven management system auditing experience
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS/EN 9100
• Fluent in English
• Willingness to travel frequently across the UK, including overnight stays
