DOA Chief Engineer (FAR)

Overview

In this role you will oversee DOA engineering projects focused on certification compliance and design maturity. You will work closely with HDO/HoA to ensure regulatory alignment across CA, EASA, and UK CAA requirements. You will drive technical decisions, lead innovative problem solving, and mentor design teams to optimize efficiency, cost, and schedule. This position offers impact on complex airworthiness efforts and the opportunity to shape certification strategy in a fast-paced aviation environment. You will operate as a CVE in at least one discipline and represent engineering excellence across the program.

Responsibilities

• Oversee an entire engineering project from design through certification within DOH scope
• Be nominated as a CVE in at least one discipline
• Support HDO/HoA and deputise when required
• Make authoritative technical decisions with impact on engineering activities and regulatory compliance
• Apply advanced technical principles and develop innovative approaches
• Lead development of new standards and guides for engineering activities
• Identify and implement improved methods to optimize efficiency, cost, and schedule
• Mentor and train on design applications and methodologies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Key requirements

• Bachelor in relevant field
• Aviation experience
• Previous CVE experience or equivalent
• Form 4 holder desirable
• Detailed knowledge of CAA Part 21J Regulations and CS/JAR 25, 26 EU-OPS, Part-CAT
• Experience with design applications and certification/compliance processes
• Leadership and team management abilities
• Excellent communication of complex technical issues
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
