Overview

In this role you will lead and grow the employment law practice within a regional law firm’s Litigation Department in Exeter. You will manage your own caseload, foster client relationships, and contribute to wider litigation work. The position offers hybrid working after probation and a clear path to build the practice through proactive BD and cross-office collaboration. Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of employment matters
  • Own client relationships and deliver high-quality advice
  • Grow the employment practice through proactive business development
  • Lead marketing initiatives and generate new sources of work
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Litigation Department
  • Maintain presence in Exeter office at least three days per week (hybrid after probation)
  • Travel to other offices for client meetings and events as needed
  • Contribute to the firm’s strategic growth and development plans
  • Shape and expand the employment offering as the role grows

Key requirements

  • 3-5 years’ PQE in employment law
  • Qualified Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer with full practising rights
  • Strong technical knowledge and independent matter management
  • Proactive business development and client generation
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Willingness to learn additional areas of litigation
  • Track record of client following or BD success (advantageous)
