Engineering Manager

Overview

As Engineering Manager, you will lead engineering activities within Murphy’s Energy Team on the SSE ASTI Framework, promoting best practice in health, safety and environment. You will oversee construction planning, temporary works and risk controls, while maintaining strong client and supplier relations. You’ll ensure accurate drawings, specs, and information flow to keep the program on track, and you’ll guide engineers to deliver safe, compliant, high-quality works. This is a chance to shape major energy projects and drive sustainable innovation within a renowned EPC environment.

Responsibilities

• Promote HSE best practices with SHQE
• Advise on temporary works design schemes
• Maintain client/designer/supply chain relationships
• Guide setting-out methods and technical solutions
• Ensure drawings/specifications enable construction
• Request missing information to maintain program
• Coordinate with foremen and supervisors on information flow
• Oversee materials and plant selection for construction
• Prepare risk assessments and method statements
• Maintain accurate site diary with changes, subcontractors, and discussions
• Ensure ITPs and QA checks align with PMP/Specifications

Key requirements

• Experience in Construction or Civil Engineering projects
• Experience with ITPs, RAMs & Temporary Works
• Ability to present to Top Level Management and senior clients
• Excellent knowledge of civil engineering legislation and HSE/EH&S legislation
• Ability to discuss engineering issues across disciplines
• Ability to produce and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures
