Overview
In this role you apply quantitative research to optimize electronic execution for EMEA equity markets. You will blend research and software development to improve algorithmic trading performance and build production-quality components. Collaborating with trading, advisory, and technology teams, you translate findings into practical improvements for clients and internal governance. The position offers exposure to frontier analytics, cross-functional collaboration, and the chance to influence market outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Research EMEA equity market microstructure to extract actionable insights for algorithmic trading
- Design and backtest quantitative research projects using Python and kdb for model validation
- Develop and support the electronic execution platform in Java for cash equity trading
- Monitor client execution performance and translate patterns into improvements
- Collaborate with Sales Trading and Execution Advisory Services to align research with commercial needs
- Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Risk, Audit, and Finance to maintain governance across deliverables
- Assess risk-reward of business decisions to protect clients and firm reputation
Key requirements
- Hands-on experience in execution algorithm development, quantitative modeling, or analytics in financial services
- Proficiency in Java for production systems in electronic trading
- Proficiency in Python and kdb for research, backtesting, and data analysis
- Master’s or PhD in Financial Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
