NQ Associate – Real Estate (Planning)

Overview

In this role you will advise on planning matters for landowners, developers and investors, delivering practical, commercial guidance to navigate complex planning processes. You will work within a team that supports partners and associates and focuses on larger, London-based projects with cross‑practice collaboration. You’ll shape strategies, manage matters end-to-end, and contribute to business development and knowledge initiatives. Responsibilities

• Research and prepare commercial planning law advice across planning, environmental, heritage and CPO aspects
• Draft and negotiate section 106 and infrastructure agreements
• Undertake due diligence for planning in real estate, funding and corporate transactions
• Assist with planning appeals, enforcement and court challenges
• Support partners and associates, manage your own workload within a team
• Provide insights on legislative and policy changes and reform
• Engage in business development activities, events, press commentary and articles
• Contribute to the Firm’s knowledge and know‑how initiatives
• Ensure compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations

Key requirements

• England and Wales qualified solicitor (NQ) or due to qualify by September 2026
• Be able to run own matters under supervision and as part of a team
