Overview

In this role, you will ensure high-quality, complex personal tax compliance work while unlocking advisory opportunities within client relationships. You will collaborate closely with a Director and the Private team to review demanding tax returns and deliver commercially sound, technically robust advice. The position blends deep technical review with advisory growth, helping clients optimise cross-border, trust, and estate planning. Responsibilities

  • Second-reviewing complex personal tax returns (e.g., private equity transactions, trust income, exempt income and reliefs)
  • Advisory: identify and pursue opportunities from return work and technical initiatives
  • Support client-facing activities: calls, pitch documents, quotes, and advisory delivery across residence, domicile, cross-border税, inheritance tax, and estate planning
  • Collaborate with Director and specialists to ensure robust, commercially sound advice
  • Act as a technical resource for colleagues; provide feedback on junior staff work; contribute to knowledge sharing and internal training

Key requirements

  • Extensive experience in personal tax compliance with complex self-assessment returns
  • Strong knowledge of income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax
  • Understanding of UK and non-UK trusts in relation to personal tax returns (trust taxation)
  • Familiarity with non-domicile and international tax matters, including remittance basis and double tax treaty claims
  • Experience with private equity-related tax issues would be advantageous
  • Client-facing, able to translate complex tax issues into practical guidance
