Senior Water Resources Engineer/Environmental Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead and contribute to water resources projects within Stantec’s Environmental Services, driving technical solutions and business development. You work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality work that supports clients and communities. You’ll mentor staff, manage projects, and uphold HSSE standards while applying established practices to complex challenges. Responsibilities

• Lead and manage water resources projects with hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality components
• Drive business development activities including proposals and client relationship building
• Analyze technical issues and address regulatory and market factors
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, provide technical direction
• Provide technical expertise for water resources designs, reports, and proposals
• Qualify as a Quality Reviewer and conduct quality reviews of deliverables
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on groundwater and surface water assessments and permitting
• Advise clients and internal teams to resolve complex problems and ensure project success
• Apply creative, economical solutions to address current and potential project issues
• Support health, safety and environment policies and guidelines in all work

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of water resources experience
• Licensed Professional Engineer/Geologist
• Experience managing consulting projects
• Strong communication, client management, and financial management skills
• Ability to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams
• Advanced technical writing and mentorship abilities
