Commercial Finance Analyst

Overview

In this role you partner with Sales, Finance, Marketing and Supply Chain to drive profitability through data-driven insights. You will support customer plans, monitor performance, and challenge commercial decisions to fuel growth. The role sits at the heart of the UK Commercial Finance team, connecting finance with commercial outcomes across a leading consumer goods portfolio. You’ll influence cross-functional stakeholders and help shape promotional investments and product launches.

Responsibilities

• Monitor performance against volume, revenue, profit and rate-per-tonne targets
• Support delivery of customer business plans with insightful analysis
• Provide regular commercial reporting on sales, pricing, and trade spend
• Oversee revenue realization and pricing execution to meet objectives
• Collaborate with sales to manage and accrue trade spend
• Review promotional plans for alignment with objectives
• Support promotion forecasting and profitability analysis
• Maintain data accuracy in promotional databases and ensure governance
• Act as trusted finance partner to Sales teams, offering challenge and recommendations
• Support monthly forecasting, S&OP processes and cross-functional improvements

Key requirements

• Experience in Commercial Finance, Sales Finance or Financial Planning
• Experience partnering with Sales in FMCG/CPG
• Strong analytical skills with data interpretation and recommendations
• Confident communicator with stakeholders
• Advanced Excel and numerical proficiency
• Highly organised with planning and prioritisation skills
• Ability to challenge constructively and influence decisions
• Collaborative team player with proactive mindset
• Unrestricted UK right to work
