Overview

As an Issue Management Analyst in the 1LOD Risk & Control team, you will support the end-to-end issue lifecycle to ensure accurate records, timely remediation and audit-ready evidence. You will work with Issue Owners, Action Owners and governance stakeholders to maintain data quality and provide management information on issue health and trends. This role shapes the governance discipline and strengthens remediation discipline within a regulated environment. You will engage across teams to drive clear, compliant issue records and escalation when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day operation of the Issue Management framework, including creation, tracking, remediation monitoring and closure preparation
  • Maintain accurate issue records with ownership, ratings, dates, action plans and closure evidence
  • Triage and quality-review issues to meet data quality standards
  • Track remediation actions and escalate overdue items
  • Monitor ageing, due dates and closure readiness; highlight exceptions to senior colleagues
  • Prepare issue closure packs with complete, referenced evidence and aligned criteria
  • Identify inconsistencies in records and coordinate resolution
  • Help maintain governance-ready data and documents across the lifecycle
  • Support governance meetings with packs, logs and follow-ups
  • Capture decisions and actions from governance forums and ensure clear ownership and progress
  • Escalate data quality concerns or overdue actions to senior team members in a timely manner
  • Support engagement with Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit and other stakeholders with clear issue information
  • Contribute to audit-ready records and evidence for internal review, tests and regulatory scrutiny
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve issue management processes
  • Align issue records with incidents, controls, RCSA outcomes and remediation where relevant
  • Promote risk culture through attention to detail, transparency, escalation and follow-through
  • Support continuous improvement of issue data quality, MI definitions and production processes
