Overview

As Senior Design Manager in SE London, you will lead HSEQ, environment and quality for a contractor delivering residential apartment blocks for Local Authorities and providers. You will define and drive the HSEQ strategy, implement programmes, and monitor performance to support ambitious delivery across London. You will work with senior management to ensure projects meet safety, quality and environmental standards while navigating tight margins and competitive tendering. Responsibilities

• Define and implement HSEQ strategy aligned with company ambitions
• Drive health and safety, environment and quality programmes across projects
• Monitor and report on HSEQ, environmental and quality performance
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements on residential RC blocks
• Collaborate with MD and Senior Contracts Manager to align projects with risk controls and governance
• Support tendering with HSEQ input to secure bids and maintain margins

Key requirements

• HSEQ/Health & Safety or Quality Manager background
• Experience with medium-sized main contractors in residential blocks
• Strong grasp of H&S, environment and quality in building construction
• Experience working under tight margins and competitive tendering
