Overview

In this role you will contribute to DRW’s Unified Platform by building scalable, reliable systems that support real-time trading data and analytics. You’ll work within cross-functional UP teams to turn high-level requirements into robust services, balancing legacy code with green-field development. You’ll drive initiatives to completion while adopting new technologies and providing on-call support as needed. You thrive in an autonomous, innovation-focused environment where rapid feedback and testing are key to delivering measurable impact.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scalable, reliable systems with emphasis on testing and maintainability
  • Design, model, and program across multiple languages and technologies
  • Work on both legacy code and green-field projects
  • Drive initiatives to completion with proactive problem solving
  • Learn and promote new technologies and best practices
  • Provide on-call support as needed
  • Collaborate with other developers on shared tasks

Key requirements

  • Multiple years of server-side development
  • Solid understanding of micro-service architectures and CAP theorem
  • Strong functional programming concepts and type theory
  • Confident JVM knowledge
  • Proficiency in Java, Python, or Clojure
  • Experience with Airflow or similar Python-based workflow tools
  • Knowledge of domain-driven design and domain modeling
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Git
  • Working knowledge of SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with AI coding assistants and agentic frameworks
  • Knowledge of financial concepts, exchange trading, or energy trading
