Senior Analytics Manager (Individual Contributor)

Overview

As Principal Analyst at Zopa, you will shape the bank’s analytics capabilities and guide cross-functional data initiatives. You will drive AI-driven analytics, set governance standards, and lead high-impact programs that elevate how we generate insights. You will stay close to delivery while influencing strategy across Product, Data, Engineering and Analytics teams. This role offers scope to influence the future of analytics at scale and to mentor others while delivering tangible business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Drive analytics-wide innovation by leveraging AI, modern tooling, and platform capabilities
• Define and execute strategy for semantic layers, self-service analytics and metric governance
• Raise technical standards to improve quality, consistency and scalability across analytics
• Partner with Product, Data, Engineering and Analytics leaders to shape analytics direction
• Coach analysts and analytics leaders to build capability across the function
• Lead experimentation with emerging technologies and turn ideas into scalable capabilities
• Own and evolve strategic analytics products and reporting outputs including senior leadership metrics
• Define and govern key business concepts and metrics used across the organisation
• Influence platform, tooling and architectural decisions to maximise analytics value
• Act as a trusted technical and strategic advisor within the analytics organisation

Key requirements

• Deep expertise in analytics, BI, analytics engineering, data strategy or related field
• Strong technical capability in coding, analytics tooling, data modelling and analytics architecture
• Proven track record of influencing stakeholders without formal authority
• Understanding of semantic layers, metric governance, self-service analytics and modern BI concepts
• Active interest in emerging technologies and ability to identify practical opportunities to improve data access and insights
• Strong interest in AI and perspective on its impact on analytics, with experience in AI-enabled analytics adoption preferred
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and leading through change
• Ability to balance long-term strategy with hands-on delivery
• Curiosity, pragmatism and outcome focus with a propensity to grow teams
• Experience in financial services is helpful but not essential
