Lead Mechanical Engineer

Overview

In this role you will lead the design and release of new high-density liquid cooling products within a global, cross-functional development group. You drive technical direction, architecture decisions, and ensure quality standards across engineering disciplines. You manage project timelines from concept to delivery and serve as the main liaison with stakeholders. This position blends high-level engineering with team leadership to deliver robust, compliant products that scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering efforts for CDU development and guide other engineers
• Review and approve drawings and BOMs
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and evaluate alternative components
• Provide technical leadership and ensure adherence to standards and best practices
• Manage project timelines and deliverables from concept to delivery; act as main contact for global stakeholders
• Develop and enforce engineering standards and quality procedures (ISO, ASME, GD&T); lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions
• Support early sourcing activities by evaluating vendor proposals and ensuring compliance of third-party components
• Drive initiatives with speed, precision and discipline

Key requirements

• 5-10 years in a leading product development role
• Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environments and mentor others
• Proven track record delivering quality products through product development lifecycle
• Excellent project management and communication skills
• Proficient in 3D CAD (CREO 4.0 or newer)
• Knowledge of UL standards and ASHRAE for HVAC, preferably data centers
• Experience in a regulated industry and understanding of R&D workflows
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities
• Exceptional communication and strategic thinking to bridge technical and management teams
