Overview

In this role, you will drive growth by identifying new opportunities and shaping winning strategies for major construction bids. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions meet client expectations and build strong relationships with developers and stakeholders. You’ll leverage market insights to spot trends and position the business for securing high-value projects. This is a commercially minded, relationship-led role in a well-established contractor with a focus on London and the South East.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities aligned to the wider business strategy
  • Research the market to spot emerging trends, competitors and target accounts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders (developer-side and wider market)
  • Develop bid-winning strategies and support the bid process where required
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure proposed solutions align to client expectations

Key requirements

  • Proven business development experience within the UK construction sector
  • Background working for a main contractor in a similar BD role
  • Strong network and relationships with development organisations and key market stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of bid management for large-scale construction projects
  • Evidence of winning major projects (circa 70m+)
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
