Jenkins Chair and Director of the Centre for Clean Energy and Environmental Technologies (CEET)

Overview

As the inaugural Jenkins Chair and founding Director, you will establish and lead CEET, steering research, innovation and skills across clean energy and environmental sustainability. You will shape a long-term, multidisciplinary portfolio, engaging with industry, government and funders to accelerate the UK’s Net Zero transition. You’ll champion cutting-edge energy technologies and collaborations across lab, policy and societal impact. This is a high-visibility role with a strong focus on building a globally competitive centre and a vibrant research ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across the University’s Clean Energy portfolio
• Establish and lead CEET, shaping its vision and impact
• Engage extensively with industry, government, funders, regulators and international stakeholders
• Maintain an active, internationally recognised research portfolio through the Jenkins Professorial Chair
• Collaborate with academic leaders and cross-disciplinary teams across the University
• Represent the University as the primary interface with the Clean Energy sector
• Oversee a coherent, high-impact portfolio spanning renewable energy, nuclear energy, sustainability, infrastructure and energy policy
