Project Risk Manager – Energy Sector

Overview

In this role you will support risk management activities for energy and natural resources projects, including nuclear programs, to protect objectives on time and cost. You will work within the North West team to capture, assess and prioritise threats and opportunities, ensuring governance and reporting across projects. The role offers exposure to a growing programme and the chance to shape risk processes and mitigation across diverse work packages. Responsibilities

• Design and tailor risk management processes to client needs
• Facilitate risk workshops with SME participants
• Create and maintain risk registers and related data
• Challenge risk information to improve data quality
• Drive implementation of mitigation actions across projects
• Develop measurable management responses for mitigated positions
• Conduct Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) for cost and schedule
• Produce timely risk reporting using PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Power BI
• Collaborate with other Project Controls disciplines to align project information
• Engage with the supply chain to incorporate external risks

Key requirements

• Professional risk management experience across the project lifecycle
• Ability to adapt risk strategies to change and communicate complex risk information
• Familiarity with risk management systems such as Safran, @risk, PRA
• Competent with Microsoft Office and Power BI; experience with ARM, Xactium, Predict, Tableau
• BPSS level security clearance (or ability to obtain)
• Membership of a professional body (e.g., IRM, APM)
• Familiarity with ISO31000, APM, Orange Book, or IPA risk standards
• Desirable: APM Risk Certificate Level 2 or MoR qualification
• Strong verbal and written communication, research, analytical, and stakeholder management
• Experience in a Project Controls team and desire to work in the nuclear sector
