Civil Engineer

Overview

As Civil Engineer, you will deliver engineering outputs for varied building and infrastructure projects and help lead project delivery. You will work within a collaborative team to produce sound calculations, drawings, specifications and reports, while advancing sustainable drainage and SuDS solutions. You will coordinate with clients, designers and contractors to drive design quality and compliance. Responsibilities

• Produce and review technically sound engineering solutions: calculations, drawings, specifications, reports
• Design sustainable drainage systems and manage SAB applications
• Submit sectional agreements and ensure compliance with standards
• Supervise outputs of technicians and junior staff
• Coordinate designs with project team and wider stakeholders
• Attend meetings and conduct surveys
• Collaborate with clients, designers and contractors throughout design and construction
• Contribute to management and delivery of projects

Key requirements

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• Ideally Chartered or near Chartered
• Strong knowledge of below-ground drainage design, SAB, SuDS, external works
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D/Site 3D, TEDDS, Causeway Flow/Microdrainage
• Ability to prepare technical reports
• Experience managing multidisciplinary projects
• Minimum 5 years’ post-graduate experience (desirable)
• Willingness to mentor early career colleagues (desirable)
• Commercial aptitude (desirable) including tenders and fee proposals
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015
