Structured and Project Finance Lawyer

Overview

As a Structured and Project Finance Associate in Edinburgh, you will join a market-leading team handling high-value energy and infrastructure projects, refinancings and related advisory work. You’ll work closely with clients across banks, developers and funds, contributing to multi-jurisdictional mandates and project delivery. The role offers early responsibility, cross-office collaboration and career development in a dynamic, energy-focused practice.

Responsibilities

• Support the full lifecycle of project and energy finance transactions, including development, financing and post-completion delivery
• Advise on refinancings, operational support and related M&A within projects
• Work with a diverse client base (banks, developers, funds, utilities) on cross-border transactions
• Collaborate with colleagues across Pinsent Masons offices to manage international deals
• Assist on advisory mandates in energy efficiency and low carbon projects
• Manage procurement, advisory and delivery phases and assist in post-completion disputes when relevant

Key requirements

• 4–6 years PQE in a finance or project finance role
• Experience in a large commercial firm with an established energy practice (preferred)
• Strong academic background
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Team player with ability to build strong working relationships in an agile environment
