Java Software Engineer – Trading

Overview

In this role you will help expand a low-latency, multi-threaded trading platform that executes algorithmic strategies for an institutional client base. You will collaborate with the trading team to enhance core services, order management and real-time data feeds, while handling big data and performance-critical components. The environment mimics high-performance tech firms, offering rapid learning and significant scope to shape trading infrastructure. You will work with cross-functional partners to enable scalable, robust trading applications and meet ambitious financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and extend low-latency, multi-threaded Java trading applications
• Collaborate on core trading services, order management and real-time price feeds
• Handle big data aspects of the trading platform
• Contribute to testing and deployment pipelines (unit/integration)
• Work with FIX interfaces where applicable and learn financial domains

Key requirements

• Strong core Java design and development skills
• Understanding of OO, threading, concurrency and distributed systems
• Experience in developing multi-threaded Java applications
• Apache Kafka experience
• Automated unit and integration testing experience
• Maven, Git, AWS
• Degree in Computer Science, Maths, Physics or related field with 2+ years of experience
