Contracts Manager – London & Southeast England

Overview

As Contracts Manager, you will oversee multiple construction projects from pre-start to handover for a growing specialist subcontractor. You’ll lead site teams, safeguard safety, quality and programme delivery, and manage costs with the commercial team. You’ll build strong client and stakeholder relationships while supporting business development. Responsibilities

• Manage multiple construction projects from pre-start to handover
• Lead Site Managers and project teams with technical guidance
• Ensure safety, programme, budget and quality targets are met
• Foster relationships with clients, consultants, principal contractors and subcontractors
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to protect programme
• Attend client, site progress, and commercial review meetings
• Collaborate with the commercial team on costs, variations and contracts
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards
• Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors across sites
• Conduct regular site inspections and monitor workmanship and compliance
• Support business development by maintaining client relationships and spotting opportunities

Key requirements

• Experience as Contracts Manager, Senior Project Manager or Project Manager in construction or civil engineering
• Experience managing multiple projects for specialist subcontractor or main contractor
• Strong knowledge of groundworks, demolition, structural alterations, hard landscaping, fit out or associated packages
• Excellent understanding of construction sequencing, commercial awareness and programme management
• Strong client-facing skills with long-term relationship ability
• Excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications desirable
• Full UK driving licence
