Transport Planning Associate Director/Technical Director (Development)

Overview

In this role you will lead and grow the Development transport planning team in Bristol and the South West, combining client-facing work with technical leadership. You will win and deliver opportunities across public and private sectors within a multi-disciplinary setting, shaping development and master planning projects. You will act as a bridge between clients, stakeholders and the Development team, driving strategy, innovation and sustainable transport solutions. Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow market share for the Development team
• Engage with Regional Director and local office lead to set growth targets and plans
• Build trusted relationships with public and private sector clients and planning authorities
• Provide technical transport planning guidance to clients throughout planning and design processes
• Coordinate cross-team collaboration to share market intelligence and best practices
• Lead and support bids, review submissions, and demonstrate value in proposals
• Support health, safety, environment and quality (SHEQ) across the team
• Contribute to diversification efforts in staffing and revenue within the team

Key requirements

• Degree level qualification in transport planning or civil engineering with chartered status (ideally)
• Commercial and strategic capability with proven track record in identifying and delivering new business
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership and management capabilities
• Proven track record of winning work
• Broad range of relevant project experience in development, transport planning or related fields
