Transport Planner

Overview

In this Transport Planner role, you will coordinate global movement of chemical products from the UK hub, ensuring safe, timely deliveries across air and sea freight. You’ll work with freight partners, warehouses, and cross-functional teams to optimize routes, monitor performance, and resolve delays. The position sits in a fast-paced, multinational logistics environment where continuous improvement and strong attention to detail drive customer satisfaction. You will contribute to safe, compliant operations while advancing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate global transportation of chemical products
• Manage air and sea freight shipments to meet delivery commitments
• Select cost-effective routes and shipping methods based on service and requirements
• Ensure shipments comply with safety, environmental, customs and transport regulations
• Prepare and maintain shipping docs, labels, customs paperwork, and shipment records
• Monitor transport performance and proactively resolve issues
• Liaise with logistics providers, freight forwarders, warehouses, and internal stakeholders
• Support continuous improvement to reduce costs and improve customer experience
• Prepare logistics performance and cost-analysis reports for management
• Identify opportunities to optimize transport processes and improve operational effectiveness

Key requirements

• Previous experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, or supply chain operations
• Experience coordinating international shipments (air and sea freight)
• SAP experience, preferably WM or logistics-related processes
• Strong organizational skills with multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing demands
